José Maria Paiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Isaltino Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KRAKATOA F.C.'s protests and gave Isaltino Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Isaltino Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 9 minutes, Hélio Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acarahu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg José Maria Paiva managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Acarahu EC's Hélio Damião fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 12th minute Júnior Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Acarahu EC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Tavares. Claudinho de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Hélio Damião who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of José Maria Paiva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dênis Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caco de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Campidelis in the 28th minute of play forced Acarahu EC's goalkeeper Dênis Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Trevisan hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The Acarahu EC fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Acarahu EC's Hélio Damião looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marcus Meira charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Meira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hélio Damião in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Paiva saved KRAKATOA F.C. from getting behind. José Maria Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Damião in the 81st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisão Alvarenga got free with Dênis Prestes in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Hélio Damião left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Acarahu EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Caco de Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Dênis Prestes made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, Dito Ferraz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Maria Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. 96 minutes into the game, Gilmar de Godoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acarahu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KRAKATOA F.C. the free kick. After 96 played minutes Acarahu EC got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar de Godoi. After 98 played minutes KRAKATOA F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho de Souza. Acarahu EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
