The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the game, Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Zézinho Urbano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Martins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Isaltino de Amorim got a free kick in the 15th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Zézinho Urbano could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Arthur Martins however easily saved by the left post. After 20 minutes, Anderson Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Biquinha FC and the Xodó da Vovó A.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Xodó da Vovó A.C. booed when Biquinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anderson Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Reginaldo Correia fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Biquinha FC's protests and gave Reginaldo Correia a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho do Nascimento in the 26th minute of play forced Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s goalkeeper Gilmar Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlindo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Augusto Freitas, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gilmar Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho do Nascimento in the 47th minute of play forced Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s goalkeeper Gilmar Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Túlio da Silveira to strike the kick off in the second half. If Marcinho do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilmar Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio da Silveira in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Sebastião de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute Túlio da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Reginaldo Correia took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gilmar Pirani to make any attempt to save it. João Paulo do Vale hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Biquinha FC's Arthur Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Urbano in the 70th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Biquinha FC's Túlio da Silveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilmar Pirani. That made the score 1-2 after 74 minutes of play. Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Gilmar Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Vinhas in the 81st minute of play. In the 88th play minute Marcinho do Nascimento came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gilmar Pirani. 1-3. 1-4 became the score in the 92nd minute when Marcinho do Nascimento elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Joaquim Saldanha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arthur Martins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Biquinha FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
