Luiz Fernando da Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Denílson Catarinense made a huge save. Luiz Fernando da Silveira in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Denílson Catarinense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After recieving a nice pass, Karavela's Sílvio Luís Barral tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 12 played minutes Salinada AD got a freekick which was hit by Tião Mendonça. Luiz Paulo Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Saldanha in the 17th minute of play. Gláuber da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Salinada AD's Luiz Fernando da Silveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denílson Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Dino Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Paulo Cardozo. Salinada AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Chicão Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Guto Rosado charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guto Rosado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Guto Rosado hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Karavela's zone, Chicão Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Catarinense came out of the goal and Chicão Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Karavela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 played minutes Salinada AD got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando da Silveira. Denílson Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute Chicão Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Paulo Cardozo made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Gláuber da Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Paulo Cardozo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guto Rosado in the 65th minute. If Enrique Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Luan Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Salinada AD's Tião Mendonça got a free kick in the 81st minute. 87 minutes into the game, Salinada AD's Chicão Eger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denílson Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando da Silveira in the 91st minute of play forced Karavela's goalkeeper Denílson Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Salinada AD's Luiz Paulo Cardozo got control of the ball when Guto Rosado tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Karavela players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
