Deportivo Cali's José Maria Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Mineiro in the 19th minute of play. When Franklin Pirani came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Barra Funda F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Pirani couldn't finish the play. José Maria Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Paulo Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmílson Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Cali's Vítor de Castro got a free kick in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Lenílson do Vale made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Cali's zone, Edmílson Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Toledo came out of the goal and Edmílson Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vítor de Castro didn't quite understand what happened when in the 54 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Edmílson Mineiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Maria Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmílson Mineiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Deportivo Cali's José Maria Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Mineiro in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute of the match, Rogério Cunha got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Maria Toledo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hernani Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 86 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Barra Funda F.C's Edmílson Mineiro fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Edmílson Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Deportivo Cali's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-10. When the match was over Barra Funda F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Deportivo Cali throughout the match.
