Gressa FC's Zeca Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Antunes in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zula Siekierski in the 56th minute of play forced Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gremio NG's Dino do Vale got a free kick in the 65th minute. Zeca Pitta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-9. The Gremio NG supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gremio NG would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
