Fabiano de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Hamílton Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Fabiano de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duarte Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the game, Baiaco Futebol Arte's Giovanni Teles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osmar de Senna made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton Saldanha during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hamílton Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Fabiano de Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamílton Saldanha in the 24th minute of play. Gildo Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Osmar de Senna made a huge save. Piavore FC's Osmar de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Arósio in the 29th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Piavore FC's Breno Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabiano de Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 38 minutes into the match, Piavore FC's Hamílton Saldanha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabiano de Queiroz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Lira in the 40th minute of play forced Baiaco Futebol Arte's goalkeeper Fabiano de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hamílton Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 48 minutes, Alan Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piavore FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Mandrak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Arósio made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Piavore FC's Gláuber Xavier seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gláuber Xavier the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Piavore FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gláuber Xavier had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 53 minutes into the game, one of Piavore FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Osmar de Senna went to the wrong direction when Ronaldinho Capixaba was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Capixaba in the 60th minute of play forced Piavore FC's goalkeeper Osmar de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osmar de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Capixaba in the 61st minute of play. Osmar de Senna came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Baiaco Futebol Arte's Gildo Varela. But to his dismay, Gildo Varela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Duarte Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Piavore FC's Duarte Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baiaco Futebol Arte's Fabiano de Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Baiaco Futebol Arte from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Giovanni Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute Moisés Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 100 minutes into the match, Moisés Pernambucano notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Piavore FC's Osmar de Senna. Osmar de Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Piavore FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Baiaco Futebol Arte.
