Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emílio Queiroz started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Xove Fombona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, A. A. INTERNACIONAL's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Queiroz came free, but Ramón Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to A. A. INTERNACIONAL getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Eugênio Custódio hit a great ball. When Zé Carlos Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verde's protests and gave Zé Carlos Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Verde getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Zé Carlos Fernandez hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Tomás Leme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armandinho Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Armandinho Sá came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by A. A. INTERNACIONAL's Cássio Severo. But to his dismay, Cássio Severo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Eliézer Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Cacá de Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ramón Favoretto having to make a save. In the 26th minute, Tomás Leme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armandinho Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Tomás Leme put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Armandinho Sá. Armandinho Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Leme in the 32nd minute of the match. Armandinho Sá didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Leme went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Zé Carlos Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramón Favoretto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armandinho Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Leme in the 39th minute of the match. Tomás Leme struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Armandinho Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A. A. INTERNACIONAL. Tomás Leme scored 0-6 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armandinho Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half A. A. INTERNACIONAL were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio Severo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Verde's Vágner de Lima got a free kick in the 51st minute. Sydney Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armandinho Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Sydney Queirós took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Armandinho Sá to make any attempt to save it. Armandinho Sá made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Leme in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute of the match, Cássio Severo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armandinho Sá saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Verde's zone, Frederico Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armandinho Sá came out of the goal and Frederico Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to A. A. INTERNACIONAL getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Eugênio Custódio hit a great ball. Nilton Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th minute Nilton Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramón Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Sugar Villavicencio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A. A. INTERNACIONAL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verde the free kick. Tomás Leme came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Armandinho Sá could save by the left post. In the 91st match minute, Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. Verde's Armandinho Sá proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Verde from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute, Cássio Severo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Armandinho Sá. The goal made the score 0-8. A. A. INTERNACIONAL's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
