Sporting Colegio RJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EAGLES F. C. the free kick. After 13 played minutes Sporting Colegio RJ got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Catarinense. Sporting Colegio RJ's Luciano Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Pereira in the 16th minute of play. Gilson Domingues hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Luciano Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aníbal Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal Baiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sporting Colegio RJ getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Aníbal Baiano hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Dudu Hoffmann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luciano Mineiro skillfully saved the ball. In the 30th minute Sebastião Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noel Barreto took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luciano Mineiro. Luciano Mineiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thiago Pereira was the one to do the kick off. Carlos Eduardo Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Thiago Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Luciano Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Mineiro having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Pedro Augusto Leão took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Luciano Mineiro to make any attempt to save it. In the 66th minute, Thiago Pereira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luciano Mineiro. The goal made the score 0-5. 74 minutes into the match, Sebastião Vargas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luciano Mineiro, 0-6. After a rather tough play, EAGLES F. C.'s Raúl Matos got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute Noel Barreto suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Antônio Carlos Catarinense was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 82 played minutes Sporting Colegio RJ got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Catarinense. EAGLES F. C.'s Thiago Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastião Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raúl Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. EAGLES F. C.'s Raúl Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. EAGLES F. C. played a much better game than Sporting Colegio RJ and deserved their victory. The Sporting Colegio RJ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
