Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Barriero EC's Umberto Perez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Virgílio Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Paulino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Rosado couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Barriero EC's zone, Virgílio Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedê da Silveira came out of the goal and Virgílio Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osvaldinho Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguinho de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Barriero EC's zone, Virgílio Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedê da Silveira came out of the goal and Virgílio Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulino's Kiko de Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Virgílio Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dedê da Silveira was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Paulino's Fábio Monteiro got a free kick in the 39th minute. If Umberto Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Perez's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Rodriguinho de Godoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barriero EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After the first half Barriero EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Kiko de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Barriero EC's Dudu Borges got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Rodriguinho de Godoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldinho Paraense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Osvaldinho Paraense made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Rodriguinho de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Paraibano in the 59th minute of play forced Barriero EC's goalkeeper Dedê da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Paulino booed when Barriero EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Umberto Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto Perez in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldinho Paraense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Umberto Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Juarês Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldinho Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Perez in the 81st minute of the match. Osvaldinho Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Perez's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After 84 minutes of play, Barriero EC's Cláudio Eger made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldinho Paraense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Virgílio Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dudu Borges hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Rodriguinho de Godoi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Osvaldinho Paraense firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dedê da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Barriero EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
