The supporters of União Independente booed when Barriero EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedê da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. Sydney Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cauan Lima came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Barriero EC's Rodriguinho de Godoi. But to his dismay, Rodriguinho de Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Osvaldo Coutinho fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Independente's protests and gave Osvaldo Coutinho a yellow card for diving instead. Basílio Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Sydney Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União Independente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sydney Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sydney Madureira, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 45 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dedê da Silveira was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Madureira in the 47th minute of play forced Barriero EC's goalkeeper Dedê da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Umberto Perez to make the kick off. Sydney Madureira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Dedê da Silveira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 57 minutes into the match, Barriero EC's goalkeeper Dedê da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sydney Madureira. Umberto Perez struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Cauan Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barriero EC. Sydney Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Basílio Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dedê da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Cunha in the 69th minute of play. Basílio Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dedê da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute of the match, Sydney Madureira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dedê da Silveira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 80th minute, Jacinto Paraense had to leave the field with a concussion. Basílio Cunha charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Cunha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Sydney Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Basílio Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê da Silveira having to interfere. Barriero EC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though União Independente had controlled the match.
