After 9 played minutes Paulino got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr de Brito. If Basílio Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldinho Paraense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the game, Sydney Madureira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Osvaldinho Paraense. União Independente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulino the free kick. A collision led to União Independente getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Manuel Negri hit a great ball. União Independente were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Paulino for a fine match.
