When Fausto Moraes in the 18th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Dedê da Silveira kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Serafim Velloso hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Emílio Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho de Godoi in the 25th minute of play. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 76th minute, Cláudio Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivaldo de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, Barriero EC's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo de Moraes came free, but Dedê da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
