In the 48th match minute, Cotias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Çağrı Saadettin to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelo Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cotias's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After taking down the ball on CORINTHIANS's corner Angelo Garcia fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eurico Monteiro quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Cotias's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Chaves came free, but Eurico Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Chaves in the 85th minute of play forced Cotias's goalkeeper Eurico Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CORINTHIANS's Angelo Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramón Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Monteiro having to interfere. Víktor Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. When the match was over CORINTHIANS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cotias throughout the match.
