The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sydney Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco Soeiro having to interfere. Glauco Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Vieira in the 10th minute of play. Adrianinho Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elmut Kari's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Team Guaxi's Dráuzio Vieira got a free kick in the 15th minute. Henrique Branco hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th match minute, Team Guaxi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Borges to maneuver through the defense. Adrianinho Mangueira made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Elmut Kari sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute Mauro Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.E Azzurra's Glauco Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Vieira in the 28th minute of play. In the 35th minute, S.E Azzurra's Cássio Baiano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adrianinho Mangueira. Adrianinho Mangueira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Glauco Soeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrique Branco went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Team Guaxi were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Adrianinho Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glauco Soeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Branco in the 60th minute. Adrianinho Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With a little luck, S.E Azzurra's Glauco Soeiro got control of the ball when Henrique Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elmut Kari took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrianinho Mangueira. Adrianinho Mangueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Adrianinho Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elmut Kari in the 85th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Henrique Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Team Guaxi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When S.E Azzurra's Elmut Kari in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
