The supporters of Team Guaxi booed when Amapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Dolfos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 5 minutes on the clock, Denílson Cearense commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 5th match minute, Team Guaxi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Cearense to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Team Guaxi defense, Armando Dolfos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrianinho Mangueira. The Team Guaxi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrianinho Mangueira should have stopped the shot. Perivaldo Nascimento's late challenge caught a Amapa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perivaldo Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Team Guaxi's Perivaldo Nascimento got a free kick in the 31st minute. Adrianinho Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Team Guaxi's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Meireles came free, but Adrianinho Mangueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugênio Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After 62 played minutes Team Guaxi got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Borges. Adrianinho Mangueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugênio Favoretto in the 78th minute. Sydney Borges came free in the 80th minute and tried to tip the ball over Álvaro Pires, but to the joy of Amapa's supporters the ball went over. In the 85th minute Donato de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Falcão Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
