Patinhos's Matheus Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Patinhos from getting a goal against them. In the 10th minute Rogério Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matheus Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boo Soccer Club's Antônio Carlos Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz Meirelles in the 12th minute of play. Patinhos's Ricardinho de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz Meirelles in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Carlos Prado saved Boo Soccer Club from getting behind. Antônio Carlos Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardinho de Amaral's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Ricardinho de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Prado having to interfere. Rogério Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matheus Silveira having to interfere. The supporters of Boo Soccer Club booed when Patinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Boo Soccer Club's Gualter Fontes got a free kick in the 35th minute. Amadeu Vides could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Matheus Silveira made a huge save. 40 minutes into the game, Christian Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patinhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boo Soccer Club the free kick. A collision led to Patinhos getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Christian Barral hit a great ball. After the first half Patinhos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee ignored Boo Soccer Club's protests and gave Rogério Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. In the last second Antônio Carlos Prado throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ricardinho de Amaral in the 84thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Pedro Luiz Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Antônio Carlos Prado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patinhos. Rogério Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Matheus Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Patinhos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Patinhos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
