Natanael Couto hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Nelson de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Alcântara having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Agostinho Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute Claudinei Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pirajiba's Rodriguinho Alvarenga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Agostinho Hoffmann, made in the 35th minute of the game. The supporters of Pirajiba booed when The Mandalorian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Nelson de Queiroz made the kick off in the second half. Nelson de Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miguel Alcântara having to make a save. In the 64th minute Nelson de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinei Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Basílio Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Carlos Alberto Loureiro struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Basílio Cosme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Mandalorian. Pirajiba's Basílio Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Quintal in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, The Mandalorian's Geovânio de Sousa got a free kick in the 84th minute. 88 minutes into the match, The Mandalorian's Célio Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Basílio Cosme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Célio Paiva took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Cosme. Basílio Cosme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Célio Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, one of The Mandalorian:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Miguel Alcântara had in the 95thth minute some difficulties stopping Natanael Couto's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 99 minutes, Carlos Alberto Loureiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Mandalorian and the Pirajiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 99th minute, Carlos Alberto Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pirajiba were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
