Luiz Fernando Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Váldson de Castro made a huge save. After 22 played minutes Prazeres EC got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Salgado. Váldson de Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Lara in the 23rd minute. Váldson de Castro was a little too slow when Erik Linhares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 32 minutes of play, Coringão's Dagoberto Dionísio made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Váldson de Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Váldson de Castro made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Luiz Fernando Lara sent off a good shot on target. Erik Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson de Castro having to interfere. In the 47th minute Luiz Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Queirós in the 48th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Luiz Fernando Lara made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Luiz Fernando Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Váldson de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 played minutes Prazeres EC got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Lima. After a defensive mix-up in Prazeres EC's zone, Erik Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson de Castro came out of the goal and Erik Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Peixoto got free with Dida de Mendonça in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Prazeres EC's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Linhares came free, but Váldson de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luiz Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th match minute, Prazeres EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Salgado to maneuver through the defense. Váldson de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Dionísio in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Prazeres EC's Júlio Alagoano got a free kick in the 90th minute. Erik Linhares struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Váldson de Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coringão.
