The audience was convinced that Magno Paraense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulisses Porto was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Batateiros Sport Club's Cléberson Lopes was substituted for Caio Maciel. Dino da Rocha hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Magno Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ulisses Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Batateiros Sport Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Renatinho de Sousa scored to the left of an out of position Flávio Alves, making the score, 3-1. Caco Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Porto having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Batateiros Sport Club's Magno Paraense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulisses Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Caco Travassos took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulisses Porto. Ulisses Porto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Caco Travassos struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Ulisses Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batateiros Sport Club. The score stood at 3-3 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Magno Paraense made the kick off in the second half. Caco Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Batateiros Sport Club's Magno Paraense in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Caco Travassos, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 65 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ulisses Porto was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With his leg Ulisses Porto managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Batateiros Sport Club's Magno Paraense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Caco Travassos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulisses Porto having to make a save. Magno Paraense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ulisses Porto came out and tried to block the shot, but Magno Paraense slotted it home off the left post making it 5-4 in the 80th minute. If Caco Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Batateiros Sport Club's goalkeeper Flávio Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Atlético Piauiense players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
