Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Franklin Corrêa started the match with the kick off. Luizinho Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Saraiva in the 4th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Kléber Guedes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Afonsinho da Costa. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Trojans United's Chiquinho Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Franklin Corrêa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Afonsinho da Costa. The goal made the score 2-0. Luizinho Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute, Chiquinho Freire made a precise shot to the right of Luizinho Donatello. Acadêmico de Viseu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Chiquinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Donatello having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Zézinho Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zézinho Saraiva was the one to do the kick off. Chiquinho Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luizinho Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zézinho Saraiva in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizinho Donatello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chiquinho Freire scored 2-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luizinho Donatello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 64 minutes, Chiquinho Freire made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Acadêmico de Viseu's Luizinho Donatello tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luizinho Donatello made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Chiquinho Freire sent off a good shot on target. Chiquinho Freire came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luizinho Donatello could save by the left post. Luizinho Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizinho Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Saraiva in the 89th minute of the match. Zézinho Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Donatello having to interfere. The Trojans United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Trojans United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
