The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FENIX FC's Edmílson Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernani Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Humberto Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ivo Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FENIX FC's Ivo Antunes got control of the ball when Humberto Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FENIX FC's zone, Humberto Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Antunes came out of the goal and Humberto Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fábio Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. FENIX FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aníbal Abraão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernani Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Pereira in the 55th minute of play forced FENIX FC's goalkeeper Ivo Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Natanael Severo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Antunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ivo Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernani Abraão made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Baltazar Trevisan sent off a good shot on target. If Baltazar Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
