Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Internacional F.C's Jairo Vidal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgar Dante might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Ortiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Dante ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramón Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Enéas Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Internacional F.C. Rodrigo Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Ramón Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Internacional F.C's Geovânio Ortiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Internacional F.C from getting a goal against them. Gonçalo Melo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Geovânio Ortiz. Internacional F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Internacional F.C's Geovânio Ortiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Internacional F.C from getting a goal against them. Edgar Dante showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgar Dante was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Edgar Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovânio Ortiz was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After 54th play minutes Edgar Dante shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Geovânio Ortiz and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Macatuba's Wilton da Fonseca got a free kick in the 57th minute. Afonsinho Santana charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonsinho Santana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Internacional F.C booed when Macatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Gernando de Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Internacional F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macatuba the free kick. Gernando de Lara hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Geovânio Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Internacional F.C's Geovânio Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Dante in the 89th minute of play. After 93 minutes, Paulo José de Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Internacional F.C and the Macatuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Paulo José de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 98th minute of the match Macatuba got a corner. Internacional F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diguinho Rossi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Diguinho Rossi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Internacional F.C's Geovânio Ortiz did a great save. There was no doubt that Macatuba were the better team. Macatuba's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
