Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Fabinho de Mendonça got the match started through his kick off. Samuel de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Meira in the 3rd minute of play. Simão Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Toninho de Salles made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Fabinho de Mendonça put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Samuel de Souza. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Fabinho de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarulhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabinho de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jarbas Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes, Fabinho de Mendonça made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ibiatiara FC's Samuel de Souza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fabinho de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Guarulhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabinho de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Ibiatiara FC defense, Fabinho de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel de Souza. The Ibiatiara FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel de Souza should have stopped the shot. Fabinho de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Samuel de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarbas Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes, Fabinho de Mendonça made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Ibiatiara FC's Samuel de Souza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Alves during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 31 played minutes Guarulhos got a freekick which was hit by Donato Alves. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiatiara FC's zone, Jarbas Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel de Souza came out of the goal and Jarbas Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Fabinho de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarbas Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabinho de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Samuel de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Samuel de Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarulhos. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Samuel de Souza made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Jarbas Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. Fabinho de Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Samuel de Souza made a huge save. Márcio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Ibiatiara FC's Samuel de Souza got control of the ball when Jarbas Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guarulhos's Márcio Figueiredo got a free kick in the 69th minute. Guarulhos's Toninho de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Gomes in the 74th minute of play. Fabinho de Mendonças short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Samuel de Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Jonas Meira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. After 79 played minutes Ibiatiara FC got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Meira. Fabinho de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jarbas Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Samuel de Souza made a huge save. Samuel de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th match minute, Ibiatiara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséas Santos to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 86 in the game by Fabinho de Mendonça from a close distance when the talented Samuel de Souza managed to make a qualified save. Ibiatiara FC's players were relieved. Ernesto Netto hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Samuel de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarbas Alcântara in the 92nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jarbas Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarulhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarbas Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guarulhos played a much better game than Ibiatiara FC and deserved their victory. The Ibiatiara FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
