Fabinho de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho de Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anísio Moreira's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Jano Pereira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tapurah's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarulhos the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Tapurah was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Anísio Moreira succeeded in the game's 14th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. When Álvaro Meira came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Guarulhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Meira couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Tapurah's zone, Fabinho de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Pernambucano came out of the goal and Fabinho de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Moreira in the 24th minute of play forced Guarulhos's goalkeeper Toninho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabinho de Mendonça's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Waldemar Pernambucano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fabinho de Mendonça in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Waldemar Pernambucano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Toninho de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Moreira in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Guarulhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Toscano to maneuver through the defense. Fabinho de Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldemar Pernambucano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabinho de Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Fabinho de Mendonça got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 40th minute of the match Cristiano Fantini sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toninho de Salles skillfully saved the ball. Toninho de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Vaz in the 42nd minute of play. Jarbas Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarbas Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Toninho de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Felipe Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho de Salles having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Vaz in the 47th minute of play forced Guarulhos's goalkeeper Toninho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Guarulhos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tapurah were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Anísio Moreira made the kick off in the second half. Fabinho de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waldemar Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarbas Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guarulhos were furious when Pedro Paulo Proença was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 55 minutes into the game, one of Guarulhos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Jarbas Alcântara sped through Tapurah's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waldemar Pernambucano. Donato Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. José Maria Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Waldemar Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Hermes hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Benê Vergílio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tapurah's Waldemar Pernambucano didn't even have to move. Guarulhos's Toninho de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Vaz in the 84th minute of play. When Juvenal Hermes fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tapurah's protests and gave Juvenal Hermes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tapurah getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Juvenal Hermes hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Guarulhos's José Maria Tepedino in action when he in the 88th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a defensive mix-up in Tapurah's zone, Jarbas Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Pernambucano came out of the goal and Jarbas Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Although Guarulhos had been in control for most of the match, Tapurah still came away with the win.
