Júlio de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Júlio de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA's Guilherme Marques. But to his dismay, Guilherme Marques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Marques in the 37th minute of play forced Cotias EC's goalkeeper Júlio de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA's Guilherme Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guilherme Marques in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Júlio de Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA booed when Cotias EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Hortêncio Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Mateus Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cotias EC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Mateus Martins hit a great ball. ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA were furious when Eliézer Dante was red carded, 62 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Cotias EC. Serginho Salgado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tião França. 1-2. After 68th play minutes Giovani Baiano shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Tião França and just under the crossbar into goal. Giovani Baiano scored 3-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tião França, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guilherme Marques in the 83rd minute. When Guilherme Marques came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme Marques couldn't finish the play. Júlio de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Yuri Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renatinho Ortiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Júlio de Medeiros having to make a save. Júlio de Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guilherme Marques went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. The ASS. ESPORTIVO SAPIRANGA players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Cotias EC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
