Pedro Paulo Galvão charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. It was a penalty for Star Sports! After a defensive mix-up in Star Sports's zone, Maurinho Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anderson Peixoto came out of the goal and Maurinho Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Star Sports's Anderson Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Star Sports from getting a goal against them. If Richard Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Richard Borges had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Arantes. 100 Patrimônio FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard Borges was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
