Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Puiracu FC's zone, Hermínio Sanches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Antunes came out of the goal and Hermínio Sanches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Paulo Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Hermínio Sanches sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Puiracu FC's Anselmo Antunes didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice moves Davi Brodel could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Anderson Peixoto however easily saved by the left post. Richard Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Star Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Paraibano came free, but Anderson Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match, Egídio Paraibano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Anderson Peixoto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Puiracu FC's goalkeeper Anselmo Antunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Richard Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Anselmo Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Star Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Borges to maneuver through the defense. Egídio Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anderson Peixoto having to interfere. If Richard Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Anselmo Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Hermínio Sanches made the kick off in the second half. Filipe Neiva's late challenge caught a Star Sports's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Richard Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Star Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Anselmo Antunes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Anselmo Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Sanches in the 59th minute of play. When Sidney Vides came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Star Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidney Vides couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the match, Star Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Brodel came free, but Anderson Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anselmo Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Sanches in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes in the game, Hermínio Sanches fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Anselmo Antunes having to interfere. When Diogo de Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Star Sports's protests and gave Diogo de Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. 76 minutes into the match, Star Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Paraibano came free, but Anderson Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermínio Sanches received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anselmo Antunes came out and tried to block the shot, but Hermínio Sanches slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 81st minute. The supporters of Star Sports booed when Puiracu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hermínio Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Antunes having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Star Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Paraibano came free, but Anderson Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Puiracu FC's Anselmo Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Vides in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Richard Borges left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Star Sports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The Star Sports supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Star Sports would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
