An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Travassos in the 6th minute of play forced 100 Patrimônio FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurinho Mendes hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute Dé Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sambaitiba getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Durvalino Recife hit a great ball. Ernesto Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Paulo Travassos took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Arantes. Ernesto Arantes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Walmir Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Arósio in the 20th minute of the match. Daniel Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Novaes having to interfere. A hard shot 24 in the game by Daniel Rosado from a close distance when the talented Walmir Novaes managed to make a qualified save. Sambaitiba's players were relieved. In the 36th minute, Luís Paulo Travassos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Arantes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Paulo Travassos to strike the kick off in the second half. Ernesto Arantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durvalino Recife in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute, Daniel Rosado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Walmir Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 played minutes Sambaitiba got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Vinhas. 100 Patrimônio FC's Ernesto Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Paulo Travassos in the 61st minute of play. Walmir Novaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dé Arósio went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Sílvio Luís Lopez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Dé Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. 100 Patrimônio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dé Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 71 minutes, Válter Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sambaitiba and the 100 Patrimônio FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, one of Sambaitiba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sambaitiba. Walmir Novaes had in the 74thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Rosado's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 75th match minute, Sambaitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Damião to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, Daniel Rosado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walmir Novaes. Sambaitiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Rosado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Ernesto Arantes made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Durvalino Recife sent off a good shot on target. When Dé Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the 100 Patrimônio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dé Arósio couldn't finish the play. After 84 minutes, Dé Arósio made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sambaitiba's Walmir Novaes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute, Durvalino Recife left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sambaitiba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Walmir Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Rosado in the 96th minute of play. 100 Patrimônio FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
