Afonsinho Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Ortiz in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, David Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. ALL FOЯ OΠΞ 2009 MZBЯ's supporters rose to their feet, but David Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luiz de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonsinho Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Ferraz in the 39th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geovânio Camargo was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, David Vaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boaventura SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pedro Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
