The supporters of Maripa booed when Sierro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Maripa's zone, Dieguinho Valadares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fernando Barbosa came out of the goal and Dieguinho Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horácio Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Luiz Fernando Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maripa's Diego Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sierro FC booed when Maripa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otávio Couto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca de Barros having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro de Sousa during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Sierro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Sampaio in the 38th minute of play forced Sierro FC's goalkeeper Samuca de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horácio Vale to make the kick off. Otávio Coutos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Samuca de Barros to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Samuca de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Sampaio in the 56th minute of the match. Otávio Couto struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Samuca de Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maripa. 60 minutes into the match, Sierro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Sampaio came free, but Samuca de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otávio Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Otávio Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuca de Barros. Sierro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otávio Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 73 minutes into the match, Otávio Couto notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sierro FC's Samuca de Barros. Samuca de Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, one of Maripa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maripa. In the 91st match minute, Sierro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Neto to maneuver through the defense. If Jaime das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Sierro FC's Eriberto Neto got a free kick in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Sierro FC's goalkeeper Samuca de Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Otávio Couto.
