After a defensive mix-up in Maracuja's zone, Cristóvão Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Sarmento came out of the goal and Cristóvão Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the SC Inter defense, Jeremias dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Sampaio. The SC Inter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Sampaio should have stopped the shot. Luís Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Sydney Hoffmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Sarmento. Maracuja's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sydney Hoffmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Luís Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Sydney Hoffmann sent off a good shot on target. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
