Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Júnior Lima got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, A.D. Ponte Mirim's Gugu Maranhense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseu Custódio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 8 played minutes A.D. Ponte Mirim got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio de Medeiros. Durvalino Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Durvalino Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Curinhaem getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Luizão Donato hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Genílson Baptista notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Curinhaem's Eliseu Custódio. Eliseu Custódio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, A.D. Ponte Mirim's Gugu Maranhense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eliseu Custódio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eliseu Custódio came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by A.D. Ponte Mirim's Cléber Goiano. But to his dismay, Cléber Goiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The A.D. Ponte Mirim fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when A.D. Ponte Mirim's Gugu Maranhense looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genílson Baptista in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Custódio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Curinhaem's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Maranhense came free, but Eliseu Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adhemar Prado charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adhemar Prado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Curinhaem's Emerson Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, Curinhaem's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Baptista came free, but Eliseu Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After having played for 51 minutes, Emerson Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curinhaem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emerson Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Curinhaem's goalkeeper Eliseu Custódio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gugu Maranhense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Genílson Baptista got free with Eliseu Custódio in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliseu Custódio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Genílson Baptista in the 58th minute. Gugu Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Eliseu Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliseu Custódio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Genílson Baptista in the 78th minute. 79 minutes in the game, Gugu Maranhense fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Eliseu Custódio having to interfere. Cléber Goiano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Eliseu Custódio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Gugu Maranhense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliseu Custódio. That made the score 0-5 in the 91 minute of play. After 94 played minutes A.D. Ponte Mirim got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio de Medeiros. 96 minutes into the match, A.D. Ponte Mirim's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Lima came free, but Durvalino Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
