Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pedro de Castro kicked off to start the match. Vivaldo Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The Potchos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Prestes should have stopped the shot. João Jacinto took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Afonso Prestes. Afonso Prestes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 31st minute, Pedro de Castro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Pedro de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo Borges having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Wesley Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Potchos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilmar Montenegro to make the kick off. When Luís Fábio Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potchos's protests and gave Luís Fábio Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cortado booed when Potchos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wesley Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomé Arantes in the 63rd minute of play forced Cortado's goalkeeper Vivaldo Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th match minute, Cortado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Régis Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Vivaldo Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro de Castro in the 75th minute of play forced Cortado's goalkeeper Vivaldo Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vivaldo Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro de Castro in the 82nd minute of the match. Nilmar Montenegro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Afonso Prestes came out and tried to block the shot, but Nilmar Montenegro slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 83rd minute. Célio da Fonseca's late challenge caught a Potchos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Célio da Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes Cortado got a freekick which was hit by Célio da Fonseca. If Wesley Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 94 minutes into the match, Pedro de Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vivaldo Borges. Cortado's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro de Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. Potchos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
