Operário Laranjeiras's Antônio Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 16 minutes into the game, when José Carlos Sanches put in a rough tackle. Ulisses Alvarenga made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Sandro Cabral sent off a good shot on target. Operário Laranjeiras's Hudson Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Oliveira in the 32nd minute of play. Ulisses Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Cabral in the 37th minute of the match. Sandro Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Alvarenga having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gernando Sarmento during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gernando Sarmento hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Ulisses Alvarenga was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Edu Martins. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raphael Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Gernando Sarmento kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hudson Bastos. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the match, Operário Laranjeiras's goalkeeper Hudson Bastos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tarcisio Batista. 78 minutes into the match, Operário Laranjeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Oliveira came free, but Hudson Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Operário Laranjeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Cafu Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Ulisses Alvarenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The 30 de Fevereiro players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
