Douglas Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Fonseca in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Dênis da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Lauro Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Nascimento was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After 21 played minutes Cresciuma got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Fonseca. Lambari's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elói Leite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eriberto Nascimento was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reginaldo Sergipano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 38 minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Lambari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lauro Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

A collision led to Lambari getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Orlando Arce hit a great ball. Lambari's Douglas Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Lambari from getting a goal against them. If Lauro Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Leite got free with Douglas Tasso in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lauro Guimarães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eriberto Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Ivo Hermes in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lambari's Baltazar Mello. When Elói Leite fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cresciuma's protests and gave Elói Leite a yellow card for diving instead. Elói Leite hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match.
