Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Pubas's Amadeu Rodrigues started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hélio Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 12th minute Diogo Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro da Mata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Tepedino went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Edgard Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilson Vaz in the 18th minute. In the 23rd minute Diogo Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilson Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Edgard Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pubas's Manoel Favoretto suffered a sore thigh after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Hélio Pinheiro was shown his second yellow card after 27 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Hélio Pinheiro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Diogo Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes, Amílton Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pubas and the Coaraci players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nilson Vaz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Edgard Tavares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 44th match minute, Coaraci was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Coaraci were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Guedes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Nilson Vaz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Tavares. Coaraci's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Vaz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pubas's Nilson Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amadeu Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Coaraci's zone, Amadeu Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgard Tavares came out of the goal and Amadeu Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 62 minutes, André Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pubas and the Coaraci players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coaraci booed when Pubas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pubas's Mauro da Mata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Pubas from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Pubas's Amílton Coelho got a free kick in the 64th minute. Mauro da Mata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diogo Guedes went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of Pubas booed when Coaraci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coaraci's Edgard Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Vaz in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Nilson Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro da Mata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diogo Guedes in the 85th minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Nilson Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coaraci's Edgard Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Coaraci getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Hortêncio Tepedino hit a great ball. The Coaraci players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
