An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Carvalho in the 16th minute of play forced Destroyers F.C.'s goalkeeper Nono Contreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nono Contreras didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Carvalho went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Nono Contreras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Maciel in the 51st minute of the match. Donato Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Rosa in the 54th minute of play. Nono Contreras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Destroyers F.C.'s Beto Mangueira got a free kick in the 57th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nono Contreras showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Renascer.
