After some careless play in the Morro Grande FC defense, Nilson Brasil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristóvão Félix. The Morro Grande FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristóvão Félix should have stopped the shot. Morro Grande FC's Cristóvão Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Brasil in the 6th minute of play. Artur Alves scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristóvão Félix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sporting Clube d Portugal's Nilson Brasil in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Morro Grande FC's goalie prevented a goal. Cristóvão Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Norino in the 15th minute of play. Sporting Clube d Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Virgílio Peres in the 23rd minute. The corner ended in Leon Norino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Morro Grande FC's Cristóvão Félix did a great save. Cristóvão Félix came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube d Portugal's Nilson Brasil. But to his dismay, Nilson Brasil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 34thth minute of the game Nilson Brasil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Morro Grande FC's Cristóvão Félix was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Nilson Brasil put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Cristóvão Félix. After 38 played minutes Sporting Clube d Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Leon Norino. Cristóvão Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco van Basten in the 45th minute of play. Cristóvão Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nilson Brasil made a kick off. Hernani Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Nilson Brasils short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Cristóvão Félix to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Artur Alves in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristóvão Félix, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Sporting Clube d Portugal's Artur Alves in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Nilson Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Cristóvão Félix made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Marco van Basten sent off a good shot on target. After 84 played minutes Morro Grande FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred Åkerberg. Artur Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Morro Grande FC's Cristóvão Félix got control of the ball when Nilson Brasil tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sporting Clube d Portugal walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
