The audience was convinced that Pedro Donatello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gildo Furtado was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Donatello made a kick off. America FC's Gildo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Loureiro in the 51st minute of play. Cesinha Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Inter de São Paulo's Cesinha Amorim got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Pedro Donatello was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
