Hernani Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Leal having to interfere. A collision led to Amatari SC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Ortiz hit a great ball. Erik Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Turuna's Zé Paulo Reis got a free kick in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Tiaguinho Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amatari SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiaguinho Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizão Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Falcão Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Sabóia in the 51st minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Denílson Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luizão Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Moreno in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, SC Turuna's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Faria came free, but Luizão Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denílson Sabóia in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falcão Leal saved Amatari SC from getting behind. 96 minutes into the match, Amatari SC's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Sabóia came free, but Falcão Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Turuna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ediberto Leão in the 98th minute. After taking down the ball on SC Turuna's corner Ediberto Leão fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Falcão Leal quite easily take care of the ball. The SC Turuna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Turuna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
