The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The SC Turuna fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when SC Turuna's Denílson Sabóia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 27 minutes into the match, Arrozal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Ceresso came free, but Perivaldo Saraiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Ivo Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Fernando Moreno fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 37thth minute of the game Denílson Sabóia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arrozal FC's Perivaldo Saraiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Perivaldo Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erubiel Farias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Arrozal FC's Thomás de Sena got a free kick in the 51st minute. Vivaldo Viana hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Denílson Sabóia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. SC Turuna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 59th minute of the match Arrozal FC got a corner. SC Turuna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dé da Costa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Arrozal FC's corner Dé da Costa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luizão Alves quite easily take care of the ball. In the 60th minute Fernando Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 played minutes SC Turuna got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Ramalho. In the 65thth minute of the game Erubiel Farias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Turuna's Luizão Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Ceresso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Turuna getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Denílson Sabóia hit a great ball. Denílson Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Perivaldo Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizão Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erubiel Farias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When SC Turuna's Denílson Sabóia in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a left leg Perivaldo Saraiva saved Arrozal FC from getting behind. Denílson Sabóias short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Perivaldo Saraiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Perivaldo Saraiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denílson Sabóia's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
