In the 7thth minute of the game Michel Velloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paulista F.C's Andrézinho Sergipano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 7th match minute, Paulista F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Viana to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Velloso in the 9th minute of play forced Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Andrézinho Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CR Framengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dagoberto Berger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dagoberto Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nunez Rico. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, CR Framengo's Nunez Rico got control of the ball when André Luiz Leite tried to sneak it across the goal line. If André Luiz Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dagoberto Berger came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Paulista F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Berger couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Dagoberto Berger took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Nunez Rico to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th minute, César Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute Michel Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severino Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to CR Framengo getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cesinha Tróia hit a great ball. Nunez Rico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Lopes in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dagoberto Berger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 69 played minutes CR Framengo got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Brito. The supporters of Paulista F.C booed when CR Framengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th match minute, CR Framengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Gomes to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th match minute, CR Framengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Brito to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Paulista F.C's Sandro Arantes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Paulista F.C's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
