Spectators: 6649 (Terracing: 5250, Seating: 1374, VIP seats: 25) Sandro de Queirós started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. EC Mogiana's Albertinho de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Montenegro in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo Trancoso in the 4th minute of play forced EC Mogiana's goalkeeper Albertinho de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gil Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Albertinho de Amaral made a huge save. In the 8th match minute, Ypiranga SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Barreto to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Marcos Rossi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EC Mogiana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ypiranga SC the free kick. Albertinho de Amaral made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Gil Domingues sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Zonta got free with Albertinho de Amaral in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Sandro de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertinho de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Zonta in the 29th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Naldo Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albertinho de Amaral. That made the score 1-0 in the 31 minute of play. Carlinhos Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro de Queirós in the 34th minute of the match. EC Mogiana's Albertinho de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save EC Mogiana from getting a goal against them. Albertinho de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Trancoso in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, EC Mogiana's goalkeeper Albertinho de Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonas Albuquerque. In the 51st minute, Dudu Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ypiranga SC's Erivaldo de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Carlinhos Perez managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when EC Mogiana's Sandro de Queirós fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Albertinho de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Léo Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 played minutes EC Mogiana got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo de Almeida. After having played for 60 minutes, Naldo Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ypiranga SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naldo Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to EC Mogiana getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Jefferson Ribeiro hit a great ball. In the 66th minute of the match Robinho Bezerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albertinho de Amaral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of EC Mogiana:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ypiranga SC:s goal. Albertinho de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 played minutes EC Mogiana got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Tiniebra. In the 96th minute, Gil Domingues made a precise shot to the right of Albertinho de Amaral. EC Mogiana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. When the referee ended the match the Ypiranga SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
