Gerson Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvaldo Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Edmundo Mesquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Sobhy Paredes made a huge save. Luís Fabiano Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Sobhy Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Pedro Paulista struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Sobhy Paredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Storm FC. Edvaldo Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Leon in the 17th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Mesquita got free with Sobhy Paredes in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Erivaldo Furlan fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C.Pelotas's protests and gave Erivaldo Furlan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to E.C.Pelotas getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Erivaldo Furlan hit a great ball. In the 26th minute Gerson Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erivaldo Furlan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 28 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, one of E.C.Pelotas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 32 played minutes E.C.Pelotas got a freekick which was hit by Gerson Moraes. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, João Pedro Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Storm FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edvaldo Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Leon, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Alfonso Leon had several of the Black Storm FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Edvaldo Borges as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 89th match minute, Black Storm FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Soares to maneuver through the defense. Toninho Guerra's late challenge caught a E.C.Pelotas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Guerra helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Black Storm FC's zone, Gerson Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvaldo Borges came out of the goal and Gerson Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Mesquita struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Sobhy Paredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Storm FC.
