Santo Amaro AC's Wincent Pawlik got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of E.C.Pelotas booed when Santo Amaro AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wincent Pawlik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santo Amaro AC's Cipriano Hermes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cipriano Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Leon in the 39th minute of play forced Santo Amaro AC's goalkeeper Hudson Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Santo Amaro AC's Hudson Arósio got control of the ball when Lionel Ronaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Wilhelm Rolfsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, E.C.Pelotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ataulfo Macho to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Hermes made a kick off. A collision led to Santo Amaro AC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano de Senna hit a great ball. In the 55th minute Wilhelm Rolfsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduard Polozov got free with Sobhy Paredes in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Alfonso Leon made a precise shot to the right of Hudson Arósio. Santo Amaro AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Santo Amaro AC's Leonel Arósio was substituted for Wincent Pawlik. The supporters of Santo Amaro AC booed when E.C.Pelotas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cipriano Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Hermes got free with Sobhy Paredes in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Leonel Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santo Amaro AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sobhy Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Eduardo Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Sobhy Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hudson Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Rolfsson in the 90th minute of play. Sobhy Paredes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cipriano Hermes in the 94th minute. Alfonso Leon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Hudson Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The E.C.Pelotas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Santo Amaro AC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
