Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Antunes in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. But to his dismay, Belmiro Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. José Damião didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik Antunes went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Icoara Football Club's Erik Antunes in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sport Club Academy's goalie prevented a goal. After 18 minutes of play, Sport Club Academy's Gonzalo Fidensio made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Durval Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Fidensio in the 21st minute of play. José Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Gonzalo Fidensio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. José Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Gonzalo Fidensio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Durval Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dito Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benê Mandrak hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Sport Club Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Antunes came free, but José Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute, Sport Club Academy's Benê Mandrak seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Benê Mandrak the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sport Club Academy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Benê Mandrak had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 47 minutes into the game, one of Sport Club Academy:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Club Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Iuri Ortiz was slow to take the kick. During this time Icoara Football Club's players had a chance to rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Fidensio to make the kick off. If Dito Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian de Souza hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Dito Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Damião having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Santana got free with José Damião in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gonzalo Fidensio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Durval Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Anselmo de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Club Academy's protests and gave Anselmo de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Sport Club Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Academy's goalkeeper José Damião, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Délio Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. José Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Dito Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Antunes in the 99th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
