Otávio Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Fidensio in the 16th minute of the match. Belmiro Cabral hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Sport Club Academy defense, Erik Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Damião. The Sport Club Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Damião should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Sport Club Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Academy's zone, Iuri Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Damião came out of the goal and Iuri Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Damião was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cipriano Santana showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 33 minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match Icoara Football Club got a corner. Sport Club Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iuri Ortiz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gonzalo Fidensio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. José Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dito Ramos in the 42nd minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Cipriano Santana notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Sport Club Academy's José Damião. José Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

José Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th play minute Gilmar Abraão came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Otávio Penha. 3-2. After 63 minutes of play, Icoara Football Club's Dito Ramos made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Damião was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 83rd minute Adriano Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
