The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Dracena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Ikatz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the game, Fellipe Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Madrid FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarani MZC the free kick. Artemio Ikatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Gomes in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Bruno Coutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarani MZC and the Real Madrid FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th minute Reinaldo Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Ikatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artemio Ikatz came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Guarani MZC's Bruno Coutinho. But to his dismay, Bruno Coutinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 96th minute, Delfim Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
