Laércio Damião in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Magno Maia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Lira in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Álvaro Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdir Pérez. União Verde FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Alice's Álvaro Lima. But to his dismay, Álvaro Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 26th minute Raphael Lira suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Alice's Álvaro Lima in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União Verde FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30thth minute of the game Álvaro Lima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duarte do Vale got free with Magno Maia in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geraldo Andrade during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Geraldo Andrade hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Andrade in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Geraldo Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Álvaro Lima put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Pérez. Geraldo Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Álvaro Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Álvaro Lima lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Valdir Pérez. A collision led to Alice getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Álvaro Lima hit a great ball. Vladimir Motta charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladimir Motta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Alice booed when União Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Alice's Geraldo Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdir Pérez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Loyola in the 61st minute of play forced Alice's goalkeeper Magno Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo Andrade. The audience was convinced that Álvaro Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Pérez was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo Andrade. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Lima in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Pérez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geraldo Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdir Pérez having to make a save. Alice's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
