After a rather tough play, EC Caucaia's Roger Duarte got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Carlos Madureira's late challenge caught a Beneficiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Madureira helped the player get up and apologised. Sidney Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Claudinho Abreu made a huge save. Gugu Cordeiro hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Sidney Carneiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudinho Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidney Carneiro ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of EC Caucaia booed when Beneficiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Edgar Appel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Guilherme Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beneficiente's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
